“ PowerShot SX30 Black Friday is the camera you want to get if you want to take great pictures but don’t want to spend the money on a DSLR…I have a couple of DSLR’s and some point-and-shoots so I’m pretty familiar with cameras…I even still have SLR film cameras! Anyway, I bought this camera for the wife because someone gave her some pictures they took with an SX10IS, very sharp pictures for a point-and-shoot. When I received it, I tested it out and boy, does this camera deliver! I can take perfect pictures with the digital zoom all the way (of course you need a tripod but what camera doesn’t at 35x optical x 4 digital zoom distance)…it is by far the best zoom lens I have ever used that was this small…usually, to get that much zoom, you need an almost professional level lens which is so heavy, you need to put the lens on the tripod, not the camera. The video is amazing…we have watched the videos on our 60″ 1080p TV and although the video is only 720p, you can’t tell…The best part is the potraits you can take with this camera…they look so professional. My wife loves the camera and we consider the best camera SHE has ever owned (I use DSLR’s mostly). I do find myself using this camera when I don’t want to lug around heavy equipment. It also comes with a decent flash (lit up my whole living room in the dark, nobody believes I took it in the dark) and I can use my professional flash using the hot-shoe for even better flash options! This PowerShot SX30 Black Friday camera has exceeded my expectations exponentially! Another great feature, I can use my 52mm filters! I have a UV haze on there for better pictures and for protection and I mount the other filters on top of that one…I can’t go out as wide if I use the circular polarizer but otherwise, it’s a great feature to have on a so-called point-and-shoot…me and my family are very satisfied and recommend this PowerShot SX30 Black Friday to anyone who is not looking to invest heavily on a DSLR but want to get that kind of quality. ”

” This Canon SX30 Black Friday camera was purchased to replace my old Nikon N6006 35mm SLR. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to dabble into high end digital SLR’s since I have less and less time for hobby photography and this little gem simplifies all the casual capture of memorable moments! The picture quality is mostly exceptional; the few goofs are usually user mistakes in settings and excessive unsteadiness. With the addition of 8 gig memory cards and an extra battery, you can skip all the bulky extras the 35mm camera dictated. A whole weeks’ vacation can be captured by simply carrying a fanny pack! Video quality is also exceptional; with great motion stability and smooth, gradual zoom. While on the subject of zooming, the wide range of coverage is fantastic! Until I am ready to dive back into high end photography as a hobby again, this Canon SX30 Black Friday camera is a marvelous everyday camera! ”

“  Canon SX30 Black Friday is an awesome camera! The zoom is phenomenal. I got a great shot of my husband water skiing. It froze the image (and for being in a rocking boat, that is a feat in itself). It showed the water cutting his ski and flying up behind him in great detail. It is reasonably light weight and the batteries last a long time. I like the various “scene” options like low light etc. I was able to get a detailed shot of the moon one night. It looks like it came out of a textbook. The flash seems to be powerful enough and it even has a setting where you can boost the flash if you need to. This is the first camera I’ve had that takes decent indoor shots. Usually, I take more outdoor shots than indoors. I bought the camera so I could have the zoom to get great nature shots. I have NOT been disappointed. It is reasonably priced for this type of camera. I like that it isn’t as complicated as an SLR, but you can also manually set it if you want to. I found that the auto setting isn’t always the best, but finding the best setting is just a matter of getting used to using it and experimenting. The image stabilizer in this camera is nothing short of outstanding. If you are looking for great pictures, with not much work, Canon SX30 Black Friday is THE BEST. I can’t think of one thing I don’t like about it. ”

” I am photo enthusiast and I also own EOS 50D and several L lenses. I was looking to complement my gear with light super zoom camera that I can use for travel and walk around. My friend suggested me to get SX30IS. He used to own SX20IS and after SX30IS came out he bought it too. After side by side comparison he decided to keep SX30IS and sold his SX20IS. I bought my SX30IS six month ago and I am extremely happy with it. For very special occasions I do usually bring my heavy but excellent DSLR gear however for everything else (which is 80% of situations) I have SX30IS with me and it never let me down. This is unbelievable how this relatively (to DSLR) small camera with (35mm equivalent) 24-840mm zoom could deliver such high quality images. For those of you who are new to photography I will suggest to spend some time to learn how to use this Canon SX30 Black Friday camera so you can take advantage of all the capabilities of this incredible superzoom. ”
